I don't mean to point the finger at Atlas in particular, but I find a weird irony in the fact that some Muslims love bitching about "The Crusades!!!", while they clearly forget the 400 years of history that happened immediately before them.
Yknow, like Islam spreading rapidly and very violently across The Middle East, North Africa and into the Mediterranean. Islam had roots being an expansionist religion too, so what's this double standard?
Arabs and Europeans were pretty evenly matched then anyway, it was hardly a massively "unfair" war with a far more powerful side like the later colonial campaigns were. The Mediterranean was basically in a near-constant state of gridlock for 1000 years. The thing that finally pushed it over the edge was when Europeans fell across America, and that gave them an edge with wealth and technological advancement.

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable." - Maryam Namazie
