RE: How to offend people

You know when I hear people talk about being offended often that seems to cover quite a bit of territory - feeling disrespected, invalidated, insulted, threatened, alienation, or some combination. Other times I sense in the speakers things like righteous indignation, self-pity, and virtue signalling. Personally, I cannot imagine how anyone can take pride in being a victim anymore than they should be made to feel ashamed of being one.
FWIW today I saw the phrase "oppression Olympics" in an op-ed describing a dispute between two groups over which of them were the most oppressed. It was inevitable; they have started to feed on each other. You can laugh or you can cry.
