I realized something today and just happened upon this thread.
Here are just some of the things that people are (generally) ok for US federal/state/local governments to pay for over healthcare for their own citizens:
1) Maintenance / Construction of roads.
2) Parks
3) Public Transportation
4) Correctional Facilities
I'm sure people can think of others.
My point being, these are things that not all people require, but which most people can use if needed, which is exactly why healthcare should be treated like this.
