I don't watch much dance, but I did make a point of going to see the Royal Winnipeg Ballet perform The Nutcracker last year.
I'm a regular at the symphony, though, with season tickets. Also see a play every once in a while, or catch a show at the Jazz Festival. This is *the* place to be if you like summer festivals: Jazz, theatre, aboriginal art and music, electronic music, a children's festival, a 2-week multicultural festival, reggae, blues, the long-running Folk Festival, and a whole bunch of crazy Vikings just north of the city in Gimli.
