Anyway its not up to us to find proof that goes against the idea of god. Even though the idea of what god 'is' has changed in recent centuries to accomodate the facts. It wasnt so long ago that to agree with evolution was to deny god ditto geology and the age of the earth.
It is up to theists to provide positive evidence FOR god and for a particular god at that.
Good luck with that.
That seems a little biased, though don't you think?
No it is a fact.
Quote:It's up to us to prove there's a God if we use that logic, but you can use that logic and you don't have to prove anything and you must be right? Obviously, that logic isn't right, I only posted it to try and make you see your logical fault, but you didn't get it. If my statement was faulty logic, then that must mean yours is too, no?
Its up to the peson making the POSITIVE claim to come up with the goods. If I said there was a purple alien hovering above my rose bush you'd ask me to prove it. It would not be up to you to prove their wasnt one now would it because it would be me making the initial claim. in the case of god the initial claim is that there is one.
Quote:And evolution is a scientific theory not a religion, so I don't see how that relates to there not being a God or not.
Because for millenia the concept of the creator god making species as they are was a vital part of the judeo christian religion and to think otherwise was anti religion. my whole point was that the role of god has shrunk from the creator of everything to the initial starter and moral guidance councilor.
Quote:The fact of the matter is that Atheists have no more proof that a God doesn't exist than religious people have that a God does exist.
We have sufficient lack of positive evidence for god so that we can say with a very good amount of confidence that there is no god.
You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.
