Strictly speaking, books that have changed the world. Or at the very least had a significant impact on it. However we do not wish to restrict it. Whatever you feel justifiably belongs in there. If it would help, think of it in terms of what everyone should read at least once in their life. You know those reading lists you had when you were at school - it might be different in America. Well just imagine it like that. Except this one is for adults. Hope this helps !
