When they make so many assumptions and make it more and more complex, the far greater the likely hood of being completely wrong.

I think the sole reason religious people stick to their convictions so strongly is because of heaven and hell. They so desperately want an after life. They are so afraid of hell and eternal torture. What I hate the most is how theists come to me and say "What's the point of your life?" "It has no meaning." It pisses me off because what they don't realize is that they're life is pointless if they think they're going to heaven forever. They're life on earth because so meaningless they might as well kill themselves. Our lives on the other hand are extremely meaningful because we don't know what happens when we die, most likely nothing. If there was no concept of hell, I'm pretty confident that religion would have a hard time functioning.
