You claim that "Life is the functioning of a body, when the body stops functioning life ends." as if it's a fact, THAT statement needs proof.
Why don't beliefs need to be proven?
I need evidence for things I believe in why don't you?
I never said my beliefs weren't based on evidence, I said they aren't based on proof. Proof and evidence aren't the same.

In regard to humans, life stops when all body functions/processes cease.
That's what life is, a process, and it ends.
That's what all my experience has shown me. People live, people die.
Do you have an alternative hypothysis, if so I want to see the supporting science.
What does this life after death entail?
What material is the life stuff made from?
Where do they exist?
What do they look like?
In summary, our belief that there is an after life is probably wrong.
That will be my position until you can come up with counter evidence not arguments not words but actual proof.
Here's the thing, death in the bible is defined as 'separation', not the "end of a process", which is why Jesus on occasion refereed to the dead, as "asleep", if Jesus referred to someone as "dead" it meant they were separated from God (in Hell).
That being said, I've made no claims on life after death personally, I choose to believe what the Bible says about it, and what the Bible states is that when we (the believer) leave our current body, there is another body waiting for us.
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. - 2 Corinthians 5:1
This is a promise to everyone who is willing to believe.
I've chosen to accept it as truth, and my only obligation is to inform others who are willing to accept it also, not to convince the doubters.
But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. - 1 Corinthians 14:38

That being said, accepting a belief is a personal choice and I've never stated otherwise, so dismiss all you want.
Accepting a belief as a child and having that same belief as an adult are two quite different things, believe what you like, you are free to do so, but if you are actually a part of the brainwashing machine... Then shame on you.
I don't have kids, that being said, there are worse things to teach a child than:
Quote:Mark 12
30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

I believe there's an apple on my desk. I cut it open, eat a piece, examine another under a microscope. Yep, apple.
I still believe there's an apple on my desk.
So what does your improper use of the word 'believe' prove?
