Summerqueen, was thinking about low input shoestring type ag enterprises...think I have one you might like.
You'll need some space to grow, a stick, some seeds, and some shelac...sound shoestring enough?
Google "Three Sisters Garden"..basically emulating the native american agricultural method.
Essentially, you'd be growing ornamental corn as a support for pole beans.....which you would dry and collect as seeds. Beneath these things you would be growing ornamental squash, which you would split, hollow, and fill with seeds. Then you shelac the whole thing. Got a great marketing angle. Native american system..blah blah blah...organic..blah blah blah, low impact with no irrigation. Of course they would be beautiful, and much less perishable than vegetables for market. I would also add, that each piece would be a completely unique work of art...hard to get the same exact gourd to grow twice. So there's an idea to float around..lol.
late addition: the cornstalks themselves are also sold for ornamental purposes....or made into corn dolls..etc. In fact, the last time I grew corn, my profits from the stalks were higher than my profits from the corn.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
