No, hitler didn't win any election to be chancellor. He was appointed by Hindenburg. But there are many parallels between the behavior of hitler and those of trump during the first period after gaining power. These include a palpable contempt for competent professionalism in government, vocal contempt for independent judiciary, theatrical contempt for independent press, surrounding himself with loyal party hacks, and ruling through channels other than the formal administrative apparatus.
