Why aren't the Indians more grateful?

What were the Indians doing for years? Just hunting animals and pretty much doing nothing and never progressing. Thousands of years and not one city built.

I couldn't really comment on what they were doing, but I would assume they preferred their way of life compared to being "roughed up a little" and made a minority in their own land

Being a lifelong Illinois resident, one thing I can tell you they were doing was building cities. Oh wait, that flies in the face of the "alternative facts" of the OP.
