We doctored each other a couple times when poor undergrads. A couple of home grown stitchings and one burn patient treatment. Thankfully both the patients and physicians were sufficiently anesthetized.

But if people treat themselves that keeps vital money out of the pockets of medical people.

Then you get doctors who can't take afternoons off to play golf.

Nurses stop chasing rich doctors.

The public sees those perks disappearing and people no longer want to become doctors.

Medical schools go out of business.

Diseases spread.

Civilization collapses in upon itself.

Do you see how this happens?

At that time we had no money to give. Plus the activities we were involved in that resulted in the injuries were not on the right side of the law.

And if we did go, all of the dr. office supplies would have been looted as soon as we were left alone.
