Natural atomic valence bonds of 4 elements -- Hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen and oxygen.
In order for a molecule to be capable of such a thing, initially it is a fairly random process of atoms joining up with one another. However, once one has a simple structure of atoms, internally with fairly strong bonds but with weak outer bonds that attract specific atoms to create the same pattern (and then allow it to break away in an identical "chunk" due to strong internal bonding but not-so-strong molecule-to-molecule attraction), you now have 2 molecules capable of this trick.
Over time, a similar process can create increasingly complex molecules. That's what DNA and RNA actually are -- complex molecules capable of duplicating themselves.
(Oh, and I don't believe for one razzafracking minute that such a process as this would require any gods. All you need is a bunch of atoms.)
What? Now you tell me. All this time I thought it was Sponge Bob.
