Only problem is the Aztec sacrifices weren't unwilling victims. They were actually honoured and were only too eager to be the star of the show. I don't imagine there's too many modern religiosos who would understand that concept.
And our sources are Spanish ( i.e. catholick ) writers with an incentive to exaggerate the blood-thirstiness.
