I have found that forums like this are very comforting. Talking with people that have similar philosphies or beliefs as you can help fill that void that you used to fill by going to church or doing similar activies. Also, reading alot on atheism truly helped me feel better. I agree with what everyone else has said as well, you don't need god to study or do any of those things, you can do them because you want to do them! Because you can do them! That is the greatest gift we are given by the universe, the ability to just be able to live!
