Yep. People do things that they don't "need" to do. So, any question based on needs, which doesn't first demonstrate that there is in fact a need, is bullshit.

"I have my reasons" yes, and again, so what. Are they credible reasons that can be independently tested or falsified outside your own personal bias your own subjective point of view? We are all entitled to our own beliefs, but nobody is entitled to their own set of facts.
Do you apply this consistently? I get that, when a theist talks about their personal experience regarding god, an atheist might think that's your personal experience - it's in no way evidence to me.
If someone says I was born gay, or I was born a woman, but in a male body, do you challenge them in the same way?
