The hostility is for those that purposely pick fights. Most of our members will retaliate when provoked but the worst they do is laugh at ideas, not so much the people. What do you expect though? Go to a Christian site and say god isn't real you will get condemned to hell and kicked off the site. Here we at least let y'all argue with us.
Also for real, welcome to the site. There are a number of religious people that come here and we get along for the most part when everyone is civil.
