So why do they cover it up?

To act as a repulsion for harassment.
Believing women are told to covert up a lot of body parts in public, and men are told not to look at women.

I see it as a suppressant to sexual harassment.

If the Quran and the Hadith were mixed together; then we have the same scenario of the Bible.
It's independent though; from Saudi Arabia to Israel.

Islam is just a twisted version of judaism.  Either there's a problem with that or there isn't..but it applies to either equally, so?  

It's not at all; actually it differs a lot from Judaism; unless you used the Hadith.

For example; stoning people for sex. 
Judaism allow it.
The Islamic Hadith allows it
The Quran doesn't even mention such penalty

Well...at the risk of making it morbid..maybe not.  There's heavy pressure to conform and belong to whatever the dominant or superior ethnic group is taken to be.  That can express itself in a great many ways, including both self revulsion or shame..and feigned conformity through seething hatred.
