The Adventist church most certainly uses Jesus in it's medical practices. I have Adventist friends who keep me informed on such things.Newton didn't believe Jesus was divine.

Yeah, right.

Guess I was wrong again. Christ christed all of that into newton, just like christers christed all of the science from their bibles.
You're right he did put in many years of hard work and study, that came from what God gave him. God being the creator would know better than anyone else what's going on in the universe, leading Newton in the right direction would have been no problem for Him.
No much of the science we accept doesn't come from the Bible, what doesn't agree with the Bible is what we have a problem with.
Quote:I know a top flight heart surgeon who prays for his patients. I have a friend who worked in surgery with a surgeon who prayed before every surgery, and knowing Adventist as I do they all pray before surgery. My wife read scripture to anyone who asked, she also prayed with them and you can bet she gave them the love, compassion and comfort they needed. She was a good nurse that worked in a critical care unit where most people did not leave, alive.

You know that's not what I meant, we were talking about comfort not healing. As for the surgeons, knowing how Christians pray they asked God for His help in guiding them and for His comforts upon the patient, they would ask for healing of the patient if it's in His will. Christians learn from scripture to pray in and for God's will, somethings can't be changed (God's ultimate will) and then somethings can be changed because they are not within that ultimate will.

That would be me! Genesis is literal as much of the Bible is, it however is neither a history book nor a science text.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
