Islamophobia should be taken with a grain of salt...my best friend comes from an Algerian muslim family, and she told me the best thing their parents ever did is going to live in France (my home country) because it changed their moral views in drastic ways. She drinks, she eats pork, etc, and when she goes back to Algeria for holidays, she is baffled by how backwards all the res tof her family is.
Religion isn't really the issue, because we all know people adjust their religious beliefs so that they match their moral beliefs. In the same way Christianity was tamed, Islam can be too.
And yeah some Muslims want to put Sharia in control. And some french people want to put a King in place drawing its authority directly from God, effectively getting rid of the separation of Church and State. Does that mean all french people are dangerous ? Does that mean we should be scared of them ? No, same goes for Muslims.
Just my 2 cents, hope i didnt get too off-topic >.<
