Frank Sinatra got these original lyrics rejected by the record company. 

"Gangsters holding knives, exchanging stab wounds."

Record company was like, "Yea, we like the melody, but no, try again."

Barbra Streisand had these original lyrics rejected too.

"People.....People who kill people.........ARE THE UGLIEST PEOPLE".

Her record company was like, "Um while we agree....No...try again."
