I heard the Civil War started because the South got fed up of being bossed around by the north, and slavery was only a part of it.

So we have to use our own logic to deduce that slaves weren't treated anywhere as bad as the propaganda makes out.
I mean, if a slave owner bought slaves for big bucks to work his land, the last thing he's going to do is mistreat them! Instead, he'll feed them, house them, clothe and medcare them to protect his investment and get years of work out of them..

What logic did you apply that says since Roots was not a strict historical account, then slavery was ok?
