Anyone... ANYONE... who can continue to support Trump after pardoning Arpaio is either a racist, or a racist enabler in my book. I said it before and people here told me that I was wrong. Not all Trump supporters are racists. They're not all bullies. I understood I was being prejudiced and I had to give people the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they were just ignorant. After Charlottesville and Arpaio's pardon, I will not accept excuses. You now know he's a fucking racist asshole and if you continue to defend him... fuck you. "You can't just be friends with people who agree with you." You're right. I understood that. But I will NOT be friends with racists or racist enablers no matter what. Fuck it. I don't care. I've lost friends since yesterday and I'm perfectly ok with that. Fuck them, too.

Honestly, for me, the big problem with him pardoning Joe Arpaio is less about them sharing the same views on Mexicans (though that component is clearly present) and more about the fact that he virtually is Trump: cartoonishly corrupt, willing to do anything to self-promote (everything from making his own radio station to selling the pink underwear he forced his prisoners wear), almost entirely without shame (including his turning a blind eye to 400 separate rape cases and using Sandy Hook as an excuse to send armed men to grade schools, including one child molester), and the fact that through it all, he managed to avoid any consequences for all this shit for almost a quarter of a century, and this presidential pardon made it official.

(This is where I would have put in a video of Zeljko Ivanek's performance as Governor Devlin from Oz, but, surprisingly, I can't find any clips of him haughtily lording his power and obvious corruption over the media or the Oswald Maximum Security Penitentiary staff on Youtube, even if I know for a fact that scenes like those did happen, particularly the scene where he comes to Oz to deny that he bought crack from an inmate and is happy to actually have a scandal he can truthfully deny, but all I can find is the scene of Kareem Said refusing his pardon.)

Even disregarding his well-documented racism, it all adds up to this: to Trump, he's a man after his own heart; to every sane person, he's an odious individual who has made abundantly clear he never deserved to be elected to an office as high as a dogcatcher, let alone the head of the law for one of the most populous counties in the country for 24 GODDAM YEARS.
