Because they've historically spent much of their existence on the fringes of society and are therefore well-placed to point out the foibles of the society they live in?
And seriously, they've managed to live through Jah knows how many pogroms and still managed to find a way to laugh at it all (something more people should honestly do).
Also, there's this little gem from the Talmud (Shabbat 89a): "When Moses ascended on high, he found the Holy One, blessed be He, tying crowns on the letters (of the Torah). God said to him, "Moses, they don't say hello where you come from?"" It's a loose translation, but seriously, how many other religious groups put wit like this in their own goddam holy books?
And, honestly, why am I trying to dissect why comedy is filled with Jewish people to this jackass?
