What's the difference between 'enlightened rants' and 'unsupported assertions'?

To the untrained mind, not much, to one searching for wisdom, a huge difference.

So it's unsupported assertions, all the way down. A trained mind would be able to devise an approach that an untrained mind could easily distinguish from an unenlightened rant or narcissistic self-aggrandizing pseudo-intellectual tripe.
