The original series was a social, political and environmental commentary too.
It's just tiresome to me. The original series especially seemed pretentious to me. Falsely so though, because in the end they changed the perspectives of no one and they did the only thing they were ever meant to do .... make some money. Plus Charlton Heston is a tool who's acting was always so -- grandios in the uncomplimentary way of off-broadway-over-the-top melodramatic noise.
My point? I don't know. The monkey movies don't deserve to much attention in my humble opinion. Of course, movies are subjective and I thought Zombieland was fuckin awesome --- so I may not be the best person to sound off here.
