It is.
It is a very high virtue indeed. In every generation, our knowledge of the world is limited to what we can perceive and measure; therefore, the scope of our perceptions and the accuracy of our measurements changes with every technological advance. It would be a betrayal of science itself to cling to old data and old theories, rather than revising them for new information.
Which is why religion is doomed to fail in every real-world encounter with science -- it clings to ancient traditions rather than updating them for new facts.
