The bunyip. To me it was a giant black and grey dog like creature with thin legs and sharp teeth.
Hangs out at waterholes and creek crossings.
When I'm in the bush on my own, I still get that creepy feeling near water, even in the middle of the day.
Especially if the wind dies down and the birds stop chirping.
Mind you, I'm equally scared of feral pigs and cassowaries, so it doesn't hurt to be cautious.
