I remember learning Plato's allegory of the cave at school. Back then I had no idea what was going on and it just bored me to tears. It was only much later in life that I understood what Plato meant and these days I often find myself relating the story in discussions. I plan to one day read Plato's Republic but I have other books lined up to read before I get to that. One day...
