I have more respect for fudies than I do for agnostics.
It doesn't have anything to do with agnostics vs atheists. It's simply my observation. People have a fear of the unknown. Belief in God has been around almost as long as humanity has and is woven into our prevailing worldview.
Yes, belief in gods is like a security blanket, for many people. It makes up answers to help alleviate the unknown.
The only thing is, some of us are not happy with security blankets. We would rather have as many true beliefs as possible, and eliminate as many false beliefs as possible.

There is no need to be "100% convinced of atheism". All that is necessary to be an atheist, is to not be convinced of theism.
Seems like a subtle way to pass the burden of proof.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
