You mean that there are worse Bible teachings? I would expect worse stuff, I just wanna know if that's what you meant.

Well "worse" varies from person to person. Though the fear of hell is quite prevalent, some other traumas can arise from overzealous interpretations of the text like "Jesus is suffering for your sins and each time you forget to pray, one more thorn is added to his crown. You are making him suffer! ".. For a normal empathetic child this can cause quite a trauma.
