I don't understand what his point was of making this scale in the first place. Why the need to "measure" disbelief in something you find as silly as Santa Clause?

For the same reason that Dawkins felt the need to write his book that the scale is resided in.

Belief in God is fucking silly... and yet the majority of people accept that silliness, and it's a silliness that can have negative consequences.

Although yeah, I'm personally bored of it. But I'm also the kind of guy who says what he thinks even when there's no good reason to say it.
