Religious 'connection'

When you can not think of something you automatically go within (within in your mind) in search for that something.

How does one do that exactly?

All inventions and discoveries were made by searching within.

All? How do you know?

Where else they should come from?
Without the use of the mind nothing can be done.
Right now you tell your eyes to look at LR message and your mind is processing the meaning of my words.
After that your mind try to work out what to answer in reply.
You see?
It is your mind that think and to decide what action to take.
Who else?  

All gurus from all ages have gone through this system.
Jesus, Buddha, Shiva, Krishna always tell us to discover the divinity within.

So you really do believe Shiva and Krishna are real?

Are real?
You mean existed?
I certainly believe they existed although I can not present any evidence as the time past is too long.
A billion or so of people also believe in these two beings.
Who else would have taught them yoga, a vegetarian diet, the marriage system, a code of morality, reincarnation and infinite hope that one day they all will merge in the ocean of cosmic consciousness?

Even Einstein got his theories by searching within.

Can you explain how you know this?

Just take any review about Einstein and you will see the word thought repeated again and again.

Why would Einstein think?
He thought because he knew that the knowledge come from within.

How does one know oneself?

Because within we all got a mine of knowledge and if you dig deep inside then you will reach the real nugget and that is the real you.  

What if there isn't anything "great and big" in there? How do you know we don't just have our normal human consciousness, and nothing more?

As soon as you start your journey into the deep of your consciousness you start getting the feeling that more is to come.
Of course if you never start as atheists do you never reach that stage so you will never know.

Among the people living today, has anyone been successful in merging oneself in that great consciousness? Have you? Or does this only happen after you die?

Buddha is the most famous being that reach that stage but many other have also reach that stage.
This planet is still absorbed in pure materialism so is not easy for the average person to engage in spirituality but sooner or later things will change.
I believe there are countless of other planets in this universe in which materialism doesn't play much of a role in people life so spirituality is so much easier.

If both streams of consciousness are parallel, how does this indicate a merging with the divinity within? How does one become God by having a human consciousness and the great divine consciousness in parallel? Isn't it more preferable to have the human consciousness merge with the divine consciousness?

Merging can only happen when there is no more differences between you and God and as soon as that happen the two parallelism become one.

You can still live in a human body and be God and God can incarnate as a human being.
Shiva and Krishna according to the legend were in fact the incarnation of God which came to teach human beings.
