I have seen that list of the "similarities" of other gods to Jesus, and have yet to see actual sources for any of them. For example, a quick internet search came up multiple sources for Krishna's story, none of which match what was posted here, saying basically the same info:

"Based on scriptural details and astrological calculations the date of Krishna's birth, known as Janmashtami,[43] is 18 July 3228 BCE and departed on 3102 BCE. Krishna belonged to the Vrishni clan of Yadavas from Mathura, and was the eighth son born to the princess Devaki, and her husband Vasudeva.....The stories of Krishna's childhood and youth tell how he became a cow herder...a hunter named Jara mistook his partly visible left foot for a deer and shot an arrow wounding him mortally; while Krishna's soul ascended to heaven, his mortal body was cremated...."

Even a recent news article I saw talked about Indians celebrating Krishna's birthday every year during the summer, not December 25.

Now I don't believe in any of them anyway, but it doesn't help your cause to post unverified info that frankly looks like an email forward that's too good to be true.

And apologies for that being my first post on the forum but that particular list of supposed similarities is a pet peeve of mine...

Agreed. There's a lot of dodgy claims on the internet and if we as non-believers go around copying and pasting arguments without fact checking them, we're no better than the creationists who do the same thing.

I used to get all giddy about posting such lists in the past but I now "repent", so to speak. I've found there's enough weaknesses in the Christian claims in the Bible that there's no need to look any further. I say stick to quoting the Bible and watch them tie themselves into knots trying to explain all the contradictions and absurd claims.
