Rich? When I was 23 I got a job at a convenience store that gave me health insurance. If you work harder than other people, it's not that tough to have health insurance.
Dude, it's not about whether you have health insurance or not. It's whether or not having health insurance makes a difference when you're seriously ill. My endocrinologist knew I had all of the symptoms of adrenal tumors, but had to argue with my health insurance about paying for scans. If she hadn't, the out-of-pocket would have been insane, even though I have health insurance. I could have sat around with adrenal cancer (a very hard-to-treat condition if it isn't treated right away), and they wouldn't have given a flying fuck. (Note: I don't have adrenal cancer. Without the scan, we wouldn't have known and would have had to continue doing blood work every three months for years.)
