And the likelihood of you being in scenario were a gun will be of any use is even less so . Essentially it's a glorified safety blanket that's more likely to kill you or your family then any intruder .
Do you live in a city? Do you know what it's like to confront an intruder? I lived in cities most of my life, and I do know what it's like to confront an intruder face-to-face.. I didn't have a gun, either. I had a pickaxe on my shoulder, and thankfully that was enough.
This is probably why I don't dismiss out-of-hand the views of folks who don't share my current living conditions, idyllic though they are. The only thing I have to worry about are critters.

Perhaps it is. And perhaps people actually use guns in self-defense. Statistics are argued in that event, but a floor of thousands of uses a year doesn't seem unlikely.

Funny how jumped on the first point but seems to have ignored the words after that . because as i sad nobody should have to live in such a scenario.
How would you suggest "fixing that shit" when gun laws in America are generally set at the state level? So you're outvoted, and don't have the money to move. What next? I ignored the "fix that shit" comment because it seemed obvious to me that anyone familiar with a lawful democracy understands that you can be outvoted, and being law-abiding, submit to the majority.
In either case, your advice is pabulum, easy words. In the meantime plenty of folks are stuck in bad 'hoods. Would you deny them the right to defend themselves?
