Very nice to have you and your perspective back in the fold. Hope you enjoyed your sabbatical.
Well I've been enjoying myself. I'm not sure enjoying being gone is exactly right. But I did need to be gone. How did the weight loss go?
Good news. Over the last two years I lost 50 pounds, and am still 40 under what I started at then. I'm working out at least 3 days a week, with Pilates classes twice a week along with reclined stationary bike and weights every day, along with the walk there and back usually.
My wife Lia and I are both retired now. But she still has emeritus status and this year they;re giving her an honorary doctorate. I have no further contact with my old school but I take good care of my garden, the dogs and projects to improve our space in addition to being on the board for California Horticultural Society, cooking most our meals along with regular workouts at the Y. Life is good except I know more and more friends who have lost a mate. Time to plan for change.
If you're ever coming to the SF area and would like to meet, we could help you hammer out an agenda of things, some of which we could to do with you if you like.
