Trump simply repeats anything the last person he talked to. He is desperate to please and throws a fit when he doesn't get 100% praise.
You wouldn't have to take guns away if from the start the shops and factories cared about laws that vetted in the first place. There is no presumption of guilt when you take a written drivers test or road test before you get a licence. Proving you can handle driving is due process.
