He's air force. As of now, the A-10 is here to stay. It's being used a lot against isis recently.

Yeah, I think the downtowns are about 118 miles apart (I-10, probably). I used to live just east of PHX. Been to TUS a few times.
A-10s are pretty wacky looking planes. Pretty loud, as I remember, too.
