There is a very strong and consistent factor in the world and that is - 
religion is absent in nature, but not in man. So humans are the only natural species which have religion. This sets him apart from the animals.
It is an argument against the progression of humans from animals, or it is an unusual difference which doesn't occur between any other species.

BTW, re type errors from a null hypothesis, what if the hypothesis is a rejection in the first place? That formula is a tail biting argument.
