I did not join this forum with the intentions to attack, debate, or belittle anyone. I expect the same treatment, please. I am doing a personal study on the topic of apostasy of the Christian faith. Some believers think that a person of Christian faith can choose to not follow Jesus. I do have my own beliefs about this subject of which i will not discuss. I do personally know of one person who kind of turned away for a period of time , but eventually returned to the faith. I am here to ask if there are any of people who were a bible believing, Christ following, Christian who chose to "walk away" from that belief. If so, how long were you a follower of Jesus and why did you abandon that faith? What is your belief now?
Thank you so much for your time.

Well fuck me another Gotcha set up thinly disguised as a conversion thread.

Welcome G!
Glad to see another theist here to mix things up. Kitty Ann and myself are the resident Catholics. Neo Scholastic is Sweadenborgian (sp?), GodsCreated is Baptist I believe, and Lek, Steve, Roadrunner, Alphamale, and A Theist are non denominational. We also have a couple of Muslims: Atlas and Mystic Knight.
Anyway, I'm glad you're here. You seem really genuine and polite. Most people here will be respectful, but feel free to ignore people like Succubus. He's a peach!
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
