It's all backed up by reason. Why do you think police tell people "You have a right to an attorney. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law." Have you looked at the Japanese justice system at all? Or how about just the immigration courts in the United States? Have you looked at those at all?
You like to place blame on lawyers. The problem is bad laws, not lawyers. A lawyers only job is to defend their client to the best of their ability. If the laws allow them to do that, you can't blame them for doing it. The prosecution's job is to prove their case.
People always think they'd be able to defend themselves if they're innocent. The world doesn't work that way. It never has.
Police say it to protect themselves. That's the only reason.
Oh, so now you want to convolute American law with Japanese law? Seriously, grow some common sense.
The law is the problem. It has everything to do with lawyers and the opposite of your love obsession.
