(I still don't feel that way about C_L though.)
Honestly? C_L and Kingpin (I miss that guy) have been the only Christians I’ve encountered on here that haven’t had an ulterior motive for being here. They were the only ones who actually wanted to reach across the aisle (so to speak) and actually attempt friendship with us.
The rest? Lying for Jesus in one way or another in order to save souls. Drich, of all fucking people, said it right: we’re project people for him and others of his ilk (who, in my eyes, are the majority of Christians on here). Not people to get to know, but things to fix.
And, IMO, it’s pretty obvious. How many of them try to get to know us as people? How many hang out and joke around in the off topic section? Or play mafia? Or generally try to engage this place as a community on a regular basis? No, they’re found in the religious section(s) and politics section (which makes sense, since religion is just another form of politics), and that’s it.
So, given that the bulk of them are here in an adversarial capacity (while convincing themselves that they’re doing us a favor), I’m kind of amused that so many are offended by a lot of us not reacting kindly to it. Especially when, in a lot of cases, atheists are outright banned from even engaging with Christians on their turf.
