I don't think anyone knows. Many people describe experience a "crisis of faith" Speaking personally, as a former atheist, I have indeed thoroughly examined most of the objections to God's existence, including having studied in depth the works of Sartre and Nietzsche, among others. I have also critically examined different apologetic demonstrations and see that some are better than others. I'm not persuaded by the Kallam or Plantinga's modal argument. I don't claim to understand Godel's ontological argument. But IMO the logic of Aquinas's 5 Ways is impeccable and his premises sound.
