CBD oil. Acupuncture.
#12
RE: CBD oil. Acupuncture.
I'm out here in San Francisco where both CBD and acupuncture are very popular. There is very little in the way of conclusive science for either, which doubtless explains why you are posting this here. I have not tried acupuncture. My experiences with CBD are inconclusive. I have never used it in any sort of a controlled test, and have usually consumed THC at the same time, so any positive effects could be attributable to that. Prior to recreational legalization here, free samples were very common. I'm not sure where you are, but you may be able to find some that you can try for free. I would start with a small test spot on the back of your hand before applying it over a large area. I have heard of people who are allergic having a bad time. My experience is such that I wouldn't recommend spending any serious money until you determine if it has any affect on you, placebo or otherwise. Others have told me they get a tingling sensation from the area they apply it to but the only time I experienced anything remotely like that was when the CBD oil had been blended with eucalyptus oil.

In both instances, acupuncture and CBD oil, I urge you to consider the advocates themselves. My experience has been that the same people who advocate for both also go in heavy for herbal remedies and spiritual cures. Two things I remain skeptical about. I don't dispute the efficacy of some herbal decoctions, and wholly advocate medical and recreational marijuana for adult persons, but I never seem able to accept anecdotal evidence as proof of anything. Snake oil salesman is probably the world's second oldest profession.

I have heard, also anecdotal, some acupuncture horror stories. Nerve damage, infections, flesh-eating bacteria, really a lot of the same things you can pick up at the local emergency ward. It is really something of a lifestyle choice, but I secretly believe that all of those herb-popping, yoga-posing vegans are, in truth, crypto-chili dog eaters that have been sent to infiltrate on behalf of the Ecuadorian quinoa cartel.
