Cat food has a higher fat content, which is passed out from the body, mostly undigested. Dogs treat it like Almond Roca, according to my vet. Since we started giving our 17 year old Maltese wet food to get her to eat, the Dachshund/Beagle mix we rescued is now snarfing down the Maltese's shit. We have a shit-eating dog.
I guess it makes the yard easier to clean. 
We have two adult sons living in our house; they are my slaves and have to scoop up the dog squeezins, so I'm not certain how much easier it is. I don't do any gardening or pooper-scooper work at my house. Those slaves take care of those details. 
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
