What kind of fire will leave the plane physically airworthy but disable the crew and communication system so suddenly, cause the fly by wire plane to take drastic course and altitude changes and then return to straight and level flight?
I don't recall the article I read in much detail but it was written by someone who was familiar with the plane's systems. If I remember correctly, he was on one of the investigative teams.
