I've played this game, it is great if you like managing an empire and negotiating with weird alien species. The fighting was pretty basic when I played but it was still fun seeing the ships buzzing around each other blasting each other. Colony management was really intuitive too. It is really interesting seeing what happens as a result of your tech choices. Most of the time good things happen but there can be unforeseen consequences.
