That's why I posted a link to an article where you can check each of those tweets to be from a verified account by real human beings who frequently have several thousand followers. But what was I thinking because that is obviously too much for you to do.
Even if the accounts are verified, I'm questioning "how it started" and why? who are the rest of the "accounts" that tweeted?

The people you posted tweeting are authentic. The rest contributing to the hashtag are not necessarily so. I have more reason to believe otherwise. A large portion of them might not even be people; but automated payed bot service.
