However, if we say that God guarantees abundant life: then we have a book that PROMISES to guarantee it!

Your conclusion does not follow from your premise. Surely God would have other options than writing a book to pass on that information.

I've read it twice cover to cover, some parts more than I can count. There are some good bits, but it's not something a reasonable and ethical person ought to base their life on unless they are prepared to ignore very large sections of it.
